Sketches

Reflections in Bubbles, Easter 2009

After taking a few thousand empty city wall photos, and all too many random Polaroids, I decided to step back a bit. So I've been carrying a 40-year-old rangefinder around with me for most of the last year, stealing images of my friends and surroundings instead of trying to be all art-school abstract all the time.

If I could draw, this would be my sketchbook. These photos are either the result of my trying to learn how to take portraits, my favorite snapshots of a time or place, a scene I shot one afternoon and forgot about, some late-night camera play, or just collections of random images I don't know what else to do with.

I figure it's probably time to let them out into the wild here since no one actually looks at prints anymore.

Enjoy...
